Reynisfjara beach

Fascinating and intimidating, the beach at Reynisfjara on Iceland’s south coast is an unforgettable sight. Its immense rock columns are basalt formations nicknamed “the Organ Pipes of Reynisdrangar”. This extraordinary place, unlike any other, captivated us from the moment we arrived.

A Nordic legend

One of the most famous legends is that the rock formations are the remains of an ancient giant that was petrified by the sunrise. The inhabitants of the region have long believed that the columns of Reynisdrangar have protective powers against evil forces, adding to their mystery.
