Ninh Bình by bike. is full of secret, unspoilt spots, and for us it’s a truly enchanted experience.

We recommend exploring the outskirts of Ninh Bình by bike.. The scenery unfolds on an unforgettable ride. Between two paths, temples and small picturesque villages, the river Ngo Dong is always in the background, accompanied by immense islets and rice fields that litter your path.

imperial visit

Once the capital of the ancient kingdom, Hoa Lu is a city of ancient temples dating back thousands of years. For the more adventurous, the Hang Mua peak and its 500 steps await you. At the top is the reward: a breathtaking view of the entire bay. According to legend, the Thai Vi Temple was built on Mua Mountain by a king of the Tran Dynasty who regularly came there to watch performances of dancing and singing, hence the name “Dancing Cave”. For even more magic on this excursion, we advise you to take a boat for a cruise on almost royal waters, just a few kilometres away.

step 4:

HALONG BAY, QUẢNG NINH PROVINCE

Iconic backdrops, the bay ofHa long is formed by the inimitable limestone islands. Large and vast, the bay appears limitless. For a breathtaking show, we recommend sleeping aboard a junk, a traditional Vietnamese boat.

1,600 karsts and islets make up this spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. There are 989 islands among them, named according to their shape: can you recognise Voi island in the shape of an elephant, Ga Choi islet in the shape of a rooster or the monkey-shaped islet Khi?

ISLANDS AND LEGENDS

The bay ofHa long means “descent of the dragon”. According to legend, the emperor sent a mother-dragon with her babies to protect Vietnam. This family of dragons spat jewels (pearls and jade) into Ha Long Bay, which were suddenly and victoriously transformed by magic into islands and islets in front of the invaders’ ships. The mother dragon descended to H Long, and her babies to Tu Long Bay “little dragons having fun in the sea”.
